June 2021 I Arun GV

 
With May ending up very disappointing, I had made up my mind to set this right and to try and achieve the daily targets.  

So, let us see about June’s targets:
 
Daily Target:    STEPS
7,500 steps - Monday to Saturday (26days)
5,000 steps – Sunday (4days)
 
Daily Target – HEART points
40 points – Monday to Saturday (26days)
25 points – Sunday (4days)
 
So, then how did the month progress?
 
I am not too very happy with the achievement, but I did way better than May-2021.

What I ended up achieving was in deficit as below:

So now, to feel positive, I had achieved the target for 9days only but the other days, I was there somewhere closer to daily targets. Walking was allowed within the gated community and so I did as much as possible. My left knee is not in good shape and hurts quite a bit which did not permit me to walk properly but I did walk daily though.

What new have I done in June:   I have started to perform these and I can say it is quite beneficial too, I would recommend this to all...



Most importantly, I gained considerable weight in May and June combined and I am at 104.23kgs.

So, this is where I am at. Gym is still closed and Lockdown in Coimbatore city is extended till 4am on 5th July'21 and if there is no further extension of lockdown, then the gym would reopen.

I intend to get back to the gym when possible.

by the end of July'21, I would have for sure lost min 2kgs. This is my target...

 

MAY 2021

I have to admit that I was not too focused on walking and exercising in April as I was away in Kerala for close to 20days and so on and I had made up my mind to get back to proper dedicated approach for May, which again ended up as April but better,

May month has 31days and I had a good target in place but then I ended up not achieving the target.
 
Target:    STEPS
7,500 steps - Monday to Saturday (26days)
5,000 steps – Sunday (5days)
 
TargetHEART points
25 points – Monday to Saturday (26days)
10 points – Sunday (5days)
 
Now, please do not get carried away, What I ended up achieving was too low and almost negligible. I achieved only 36% steps and 14% heart points of the target due to lockdown here in Coimbatore and the gated community where we stay had restrictions in place on walkers.

I feel guilty and bad about the figures and it was such a humiliating achievement.

I hope June 2021 will be better.

March 2021

 OK, like the previous month, I have increased the daily target steps to be achieved in addition to going to the gym.

Target:    Mon - Sat (27days):   7,500 steps daily

Target:   Sunday (4days):         5,000 steps daily

so going by the above target, this will get me to 2,22,500 steps for the month.

In addition to the no of steps to cover, I have also kept a target of 1,240 heart points (40 a day). WHO recommends a person to achieve 150 heart points in a week.


So, going by what I have achieved in the month, 

Walking:  2,48,436 steps   (exceeded the target by 25,936 steps

Heart Points:   1,240   (exceeded the target by 35 points)

So, I started to go to the gym within our community from 2nd March, under the guidance of Varun. So, I  used to do the below 

- Warmups:   Breathing, Neck, 2 leg squats, shoulder rotation.

- Elliptical Trainer (started with .3kms in 5mins and progressed to .8kms in 9m 30s)

- Hip Twists (50 x 3 sets = 150 sets)

- Push-ups (from an abysmal 3 per set, progressed to 8, 7 and 7 - 23 in all)

- Weights exercise for Shoulder, chest, arms.

So, in all March was very good and had enjoyed it so well,


February 2021

February2021 had 28days and I had increased the target of steps to be achieved but then I ended up not achieving the target.

Target:    1st - 19th Feb'21  -  6,000 steps perday
.             20th - 28th Feb'21 -  7,500 steps per day

Target for the month:    1,81,500 steps
Achieved:                      1,63,143 steps
Shortfall:                          18,357 steps

Looking at how I was going about my walking routine, I then decided that I will also get into some gym activity to achieve my desire to get fit under proper guidance.


   

Walking - January 2021

 This is how much I had walked in the month of January 2021.  


The intent was to bring about some discipline and routine in my life at the same time get fit.



The target for the month was: 5,000 steps per day.


In Jan'21, I managed to walk 12,968 steps more than the target. 

 


Hello!

 This again my attempt at fitness and getting fit... I have gained a lot of weight and then crossed the 100kgs mark in end Dec'2020.


So, through this blog, I will be showing the progress I am making in whatever way possible with the limitations I have.


My Weight:      102kgs

My Height:       175cms


I have started going to the gym at GEM Nirmaalayam township since 2nd March'21, under the guidance of Mr. Varun.
